THE HISTORIC PINEHURST INN AT JENNY CREEK

Between 1915 and 1920, engineering crews wove a ribbon of asphalt through verdant meadows and tall pines, following a trail blazed by Oregon Trail pioneers Lindsey, Jesse, and Charles Applegate, creating what would later be known as Oregon 66 Scenic Byway.

Mr. & Mrs. Charles "C.W." DeCarlo operated the stagecoach stop on Round Prairie just north of where the new route crossed Jenny Creek. As hay growers and postmasters for the fertile valley, they were accustomed to serving the needs of the community, and they saw an opportunity to serve coffee and lunches to the tired and hungry travelers navigating the new highway.

After years spent hewing and hauling and fitting huge timbers and shaving and aligning innumerous dovetails and mortises, they finally realized their dream: The Pinehurst Inn opened it's doors and for years provided sustenance and safety as a "motorized stage" stop on the road between Ashland and Klamath Falls.

5 rooms, each with private bath and full-size clawfoot tub/shower. Room price includes continental breakfast. Guests may also order from the restaurant breakfast menu.

	Room 1 - Suite with 9x11' living room, 10x11' bed room, Private 6x10' bath, Queen bed, Overlooks Beaver Creek. $125.
	Room 3 - Cozy 10x12' room, Queen-sized bed, Private 5x10' bath with clawfoot tub, Overlooks flower garden. $85.
	Room 4 - Cozy 10x11' room, Full-size bed (slightly smaller than queen), Private 5x10' bath with clawfoot tub, Overlooks middle section of Jenny Creek. $85.
	Room 5 - Large 10x15' room, Queen bed, Private 5x10' bath with clawfoot tub, Overlooks flower garden. $100
	Room 6 - Large 10x15' room, King bed, Private 5x10' bath with clawfoot tub, overlooks downstream side of Jenny creek. $110.

During the winter, the restaurant is open for walk-ins Friday and Saturday nights 5 to 8 pm, and Sunday afternoon from 12 to 5pm. During the spring, summer and fall, the restaurant is open for walk-ins Wednesday thru Saturday nights 5 to 9 pm, and Sunday afternoon from 12 to 6pm. Reservations are appreciated! We are also happy to feed and entertain you at most any other time, as long as you give us about an hour advance notice. That's right... if you want dinner on Tuesday night or lunch on Saturday, give us a call and if we are able to do so we would be thrilled to have you drop in!

Overnight guests may order from the restaurant 6am to 9pm, 7 days a week.

There is nothing to do here, and we are trying to keep it that way. If you absolutely MUST do something, here are a few nearby attractions:

Jenny Creek - Right next to the Inn. Flows year-round. It's not huge, but people have pulled 14" trout out of it. We can provide beach chairs and sunscreen.

The Box R Ranch - Working cattle ranch with a museum of old west artifacts.

Howling Acres - Horseback rides for riders of all experience levels.

Tub Springs State Park - Picnic tables and Applegate Trail information. A short walk through tall trees leads to the Wagon Road of the late 1800's.

Buck Prairie Winter Recreation Area - A huge assortment of cross-country and snowshoe trails, with a run for inner-tubers. Adjacent to snowmobile areas.

Hyatt and Howard Prairie high-mountain lakes - Camping, hiking, restaurants, marinas, and assorted facilities for fishing and water sports.

Pacific Crest Trail - Hiking. Serious hikers looking for a challenge will want to do the Pilot Rock Viewpoint day trip.

Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument - 53,000 acres of natural diversity.
